End of one road, start of another....Part 3
If year two is a focus on ODAC, my year 3 is a focus on football. I was approached by the previous year SIM soccer club president to take over the club, I thought about it and decided to give it a try. I roped in John as my vice president and there we go to bring SIM Soccer to greater height.The year started with Rex going for his operation on his ligament and Min min thought that he might be bored at home feeling crippled, so along with Luke, John and JS, we surpised him at his house with some heart warming friendship and hot pipping canadian pizza!
His look when we surpised him!We managed to get the canadian pizza delivery man to fake ignorance and asked Rex to pay for the pizza!But this crafty guy refused to!haha!Yang Yang birthday was soon coming by and sweet JS planned a surprise birthday party for her!Nice yah!
Nice little bbq full of food!I still remember Joyce came and asked Zhixiang the wrong question which is damn funny lar!I think only those who went that day will understand yah! Soon the Freshmen Orientation Camp is coming again!And I was going up as a OGL this time! I always wanted to be OGL and Rex;s torned ligament meant that he is not able to scale Pelepah and therefore I took over from him and boy, it was a great trip! My fellow OGL is Serene and she is one nice fun OGL to partner with yah!
The trip will only be fun with great company!And my OG is a fun loving OG!It was great to know every single one of them - Kevin, Mabel, Maurise, Thomas, Teck Loon, Jamie, Su Yuan, Sharon, Eric, and not forgetting the mole, Belinda!haha! I enjoyed the trip alot even though I have to come down Pelepah on the rocky terrain barefooted which is terrible.
This is my OG for FOT 2007!Kudos to Tony Batch who made the camp even more successful than ours. I shall interrupt this post with a Famous saying by Robin Yeo!

After the camp, it was back to managing the SIM Soccer club and first up was the Women Singapore University Game. It was a terrible day for me as the women team was hammered left right up down inside out. But with the given training available, i guess it was a good start for them and for SIM. This was by the way, the first year the Women Team was formed.
This is the first ever SIM Women Football Team!History was made that day yah!After the tournament, it was arranged that John will take over the coaching of the Women team due to lack of funding. And i must admit, i was toturing him by asking him to coach them!haha!It was not an easy job yah! After that day, I had many other fringe activities going on. One of them are Soccer at the Cage at East Coach with the ODACians!
It was only after that day at the Cage that I realises that Wenling and Zheyang together is all a cover up for Zheyang real relationship with Rex. Seeing them so intimate on the field make me feel so happy for them!Serene also organised a Paintball at Orchid Country club, and wanting to experience the different between them and Singapore Discovery Centre Paintball, I answered her call and went in full gear for battle.
The joke that day was Theophane!Serene asked us to come in loose clothing and so he came in real loose clothing like those Street Basketballer. It was damn funny to see him in that attire yah!
Channel U was filimg the Campus Yummy also around that period. John recommended me to Mediacorp to be the Yummy guide and I was chosen!It was wonderful to be able to host with Dasmond and Felicia. But I was a embarassment yah, I was so nervous that they have to keep shouting "cut" because of me!
It was an exciting day with them!I took alot alot of photos with them!I kinda look funny in that photo as I was nervous yah!
I was more relaxed in this because it was rest time and I was joking around with Felicia and Dasmond!Ooh yah, John was also there wor!Felicia hugged my arm tightly wor!haha! I got to know the script writer and she introduced me to another show hosted by Yi Feng and Kym Ng!
I was not the host but only one of the many food tester for the show "Buzzing Cashier". They are both very friendly people and the show was fun!I had fun testing the food too! SIM Men Soccer team also was training hard for the first match under my charge as President.
We played against Ngee Ann Polytechnic first and it ended up in a thrashing by them on us. I was on the sub bench for their match and it was painful to see goal after goal scored against us. We lose the 2nd match also and I was playing in goal for the 3rd match against ITE which I conceeded 6 goals and we lose 6-0 also. Coach Marko did not gave up on us and we did not gave up on ourself. We wanted to show to other that SIM football is not there to make up the number. We were playing against the very arrogant TP team who thought they can easily walk over us. Boy, they were wrong, very wrong!
We started the match strongly and soon we took a one goal lead through a penalty. Then i made a wonderful save and we went out to score from a very nicely taken free-kick to double our scoreline. It was a wonderful feeling when the referee blew his whistle and SIM soccer won our first ever win and I made history by keeping the first ever clean sheet!
This is the team that made history!That day had drilled a place in my heart!The feeling is really great! Soon it was Chinese New year and what is chinese new year without all the gathering and gambling.
A nice wonderful steamboat and BBQ dinner with DreamZ. It is always great to play soccer and relax with them. They are the very reason why my four years in St.Andrew is filled with fun, joy and laughter!Anyway, Ben is the first one among us to propose and I think there are lots more to come!!!
This year ODAC New Year gathering is at Huijiao house again!Another fun-filled night, typical ODAC style. Gathering or outing with them are never boring! Oh yah oh yah!Valentine was around that period also!
Michelle Yang really got telepathy with me yah! I was messaging her that I bringing Min to Grill Out to eat for valentine and she immediately called me and said that she is bringing JS there too!It was such a coincidence!So it ended as a double date!

This is the other more important half of the double date!haha!Up to today, I still think Michelle copied me and choose grill-out!It was a great day out yah! Yang got some chinese dance performance at Ngee Ann and being her good friend, I went to support her!
The show is okay but we all had good laugh when we see her dancing.Cause we never see her dance before even though we always ask her to do "leg over head" since we knew her.
I always wanted to have my own bike since I was young. I suddenly got the strong interest again in cycling during that time and so I was researching for a good bike and Zhixiang recommended me to get a GT.
So i shopped around and found a shop offering me a GT Avalanche with Disc brake for $580. I thought it was a good buy and after confirming with several expert, i decided to go for it and purchased it!It was my first bicycle ever!I was so excited about it! I also went to conquer Bukit Timah Cycling Trek with ZY and i was rewarded with a tiring body and scratches and wound when i became superman and flew off the bike. Soon it was Min Min birthday!
I bought her a new handphone and brought her to The Melt at Mandrian Oriental. The Melt served a great buffet yah, even as I am typing now, i still drool when i think of all the food there!Singapore was also playing Lebanon in the World Cup qualifying and I was there to witness the match with a great bunch of people.
It was a last minute decision to go for the match and I never regret it!The match was good, Singapore won 2-0 (it could have been more) and the company was great!After that, it was all exams preparation again. The same old pattern of studying and sleeping and eating happened every day and thus explained the lack of photos during those period. I had a terrible time studying this year, probably because the papers are much harder. I was so happy when I finished my last paper and went to celebrate with Rex, Robin, Yang and weide!
I think that should roughly end the year for me ba. I went for reservist for 2 weeks after that and was searching for jobs ever since then.......
End of one road, start of another....Part 2
Year 2 started off with lots of planning for the ODAC camp. The original idea was to held it again at Ubin or Changi, but one day, my crazy boss messaged Rex and me toying with the idea of a Oversea orientation camp. We thought it was great and the committee voted Yes for it and an advance party of 4 lost sheeps was despatched to Pelepah for a initial reece. They came back with good news and we started a whole series of planning and planning and planning. I remember there was this week when I see my dear Exco for the whole week every single day!OMG!Prata at Bukit Timah became our favourite past time!We utilised fully our manpower on the Freshmen Orientation Day to try to get more people to join our camp. You cannot imagine our delight when the final count was near to 60.It was great yah!The stage was set for us and it is up to us to show what we can do. I personally thought the camp was a success. I was having hell lots of fun espeically at night, going to every OG rooms to tell them jokes and ghost stories. It was then when I get to know of a few fun loving people such as Jezreel, Shihui, Tony, Bernard, Caleb, Roy, Jason, Serene, Charlene, not forgetting the super blur blur blur lijing etc. It was during the camp when I realise the full power of our logisitc consultant, Johnson Tan. Whatever I need, he brought it, i was beginning to suspect whether he is doremon in disguise. The camp ended and we all went back and new scandals started to spread around....
This is the photo of the 10th Exco organising the FOT 2006. Right after that, we also began to form another committee for organising Adventure Jamboree 2006. The road to ADJAM 2006 was a tough and tedious one. The committee for ADJAM 2006 was expanded to gather more strength and this was when Min was introduced to me by Rex to be the committee secretary. After a few interaction with Min during the ADJAM meetings, i decided to recruit her into the 10th EXCO which was lacking in manpower at that point of time. Of course, another agenda was up in my mind. LOL. Fun Cycling was up next and we got a record 100 over participants signing up for it. Another success in my point of view. Then came the trek of my life - Berkelah. Robin was the trek IC and Min was the 2IC. The reece was great yah!Only weide, Zheyang, Rex, Robin and JS will understand fully how great the reece was for me!The actual trek itself was fun. This trek i supposed was also the first time somebody called Dinosaur meet someone for the first time. Oh, another somebody also meet a girl for the first time! I had to mentioned this, I get the know shihui better and better and she became my gossip buddy!!!
This was the EXCO photo taken during Berkelah!We were suppose to be serious looking!Look at Zheyang face, he was dead serious. And if being serious look like this, I think mental hospitals are full of serious people. My chasing also intensified throughout this whole period and my effort was rewarded when she finally say yes on 19th September!HOHOHO!Rainbow fall was up next, and even though we never get to see any rainbow, the water fall itself was majestic enough to make up for no rainbow.
This photo was taken on top of Bukit Panaroma at Rainbow Fall!This small hill was a killer for Eugene, Rex, Weide and me when we went for the reece. We carry our full load up and halfway through, our legs are trembling so much that we wanted to give up le!It was damn funny lar when we see small kids and Ah Ma walking briskly up and we are struggling. After that was other activities such as Cable Ski, Paintball, Combat Skirmish etc. (How can I forget Mount Ophir!The trek that I suggested but never go!)
Paintball was fun!And i respect Robin when he slid into the bushes while trying to shoot the target and get his two legs all filled with wound!LOL. Once a commando, always a commando!I was behaving like what artillery will do, I was standing right behind everybody and firing once in a while.LOL. Those was the main events we had for ODAC but what I enjoyed most is seeing my dear exco every week for meeting and for going out!Those were the fun times!Meeting did get boring sometimes and i remember there was one meeting, the turn out was 4 person only!!!!haha. I also celebrated my first month anniversary with min in October.
She made this for me!Awwww!I love it! We also went to catch the Nokia Starlight movie!
That day was great!Hehe!Everything was great! The year was passing fast and before we know it, it was december and our ADJAM 2006 was completed with some problems here and there but I guess it was a learning lesson for all of us!That night at Sentosa for ADJAM was one of the longest night ever when we are fighting fire the whole night!Terrible!Here are some other randoms photos taken during that period.

Before I knew it and before we all realised it, we are supposed to handover liao!It was so fast, we had completed our term with several milestones. I was personally very sastified with the whole season of working with my dear batch of EXCO. We went to celebrate at NYDC with a meal to reward ourself!

The food that day wasn't great but the company was!The 11th EXCO organised the handing over ceremony and it was a pleasant surprise when they prepared something for us out of their own pocket. Touched!
You can see the JS is trying very hard to stretch himself taller to be near my height!I told him don't bother trying le!LOL.
The ceremony was successful wor!Better than what Louis did when he hand over to us!He booked a room and ask 3 of us inside and tell us our post and that it!!But i guess this was because Theophane handed over to him through the phone and he is taking revenge on us!LOL. March came and it was Min's birthday and we went to have Sky Dinning!
Picture perfect. Nuff said.Oh yah, I nearly forgot the crazy custome party we had at JS's function room. That night was real fun. We had ghost(ME!), air stewardess, pirate, Aladin, soccer player, Emperor, Vampire, fairy, doctor and so so much more.
That was another memorable night that will be drilled into my memories. But afterall, we are still students and the dreadful final year exam was coming...
I forgot who draw this le!But this is just proof that studying for too long can turn a person kuku!LOL. In the midst of our preparing for exam, we begin to plan for the big holiday - Taiwan! I think Yang and JS planned the most ba!haha!Exams came and exams went and soon we were on the plane to Taiwan (and the plane ride sucks). There are thousands over photos from Taiwan and these are the selected few that I decided to post.....

We ended up at Ri Yue Tan and thought it was a boring place but it turned out to be so damn fun when we rent Motorbikes and ride around!It was my first time riding a bike and i was loving every moment of it!
We were going up Alishan on a package recommended by the Auntie at the back of the picture. In order to have photo evidence of that auntie incase we are cheated, so they asked me to try to take photos of the Auntie but this stupid JS posed his stupid face and caused me to laugh non-stop!!!!
The trip was fun because of this bunch of people!!I really heart them all!!!
The trip was even more fun because it was my first oversea trip (excluding trekking) with her and there are lots more to come......i heart her!
The taiwan trip was a nice end to a wondeful year with all my dear exco and of course her. I shall end this part 2 with a wonderful video!I was taking video of them riding around in Taiwan when JS had a great fall!The reason for falling? Check it out at 00:00:21 - 00:00:24!

End of one road, start of another....Part 1
Looking at the freshie attending the camp bring back some memories from 3 years ago when I attended the camp as a freshie, it also help me to recall back some wonderful time I had during my 3 years in SIM (of course SIM ODAC play a VERY VERY BIG part). Therefore, I decided that rather than holding the memories in my mind, I shall put it into blogging and make it lasting memory.
Year 1:
I was still working at Sony when I decided to come to SIM to further pursue my studies. When I come SIM, i decided i want to have a interesting student life so off i go to join SIM ODAC camp at Ubin. Boy, I never regret that decision. The camp was alrite, but the people make it all so so worth it to go! Before that, I nearly forgot, I also went for the one day FOD. I know some good friend also from that one day wasting time event.
This are some of the people i know from that day and I look weird that time! I also get to know that fruit, Apple from one of the KTV session during one of our OG outing. When i first heard Apple singing, I was like "switch off the singer leh, let Apple sing" without realising that was her real voice! Power yah! (i am saying this cause she might be reading my blog, LOL, but she is real good yah). Next up is some of the photos from my first ever ODAC event - SIM ODAC FOC 2005.
This photo is exclusive!I shall not name the people inside as I think they all move on from their Ba Pok life already! I admit I am one of them! But that night was real fun yah!
This is the group photo from that camp! How time has passed yah!ODAC has grown so much since then.....I get to know some great people from here like John, Johnson, Zick, Amos, Wayne, Theophane, Eugene, weide, Aimin, Liwen, Louis, Joanne, Billy, David, Rex and Luke etc and of course not forgeting my favourite rider - Robin. From there, I started my school life in SIM. I took a while to adapt back to school life, but it was nice to have so many friend attending lesson with me! Lesson was never boring when you have Rex beside you sleeping and bickering with John every single day. Luke stunned me when he first drive me back from school - he took only 6 minutes to drive me back from school to my house at Toa Payoh!!!!He is a freaking high risk driver but the rising oil price had tonned down his Initial D alot. I also went for the Night cycling when I experienced for the first time, cycling 80km is so so so so damn tiring!
This is the group photo of that tiring night! This is the night also when I get to learn of this girl called Michelle Lin! Oh yah, that was also the first time I see Huijiao. And how can I forget my boss, Jishun was also introduced to us by David during night cycling. School remained the same but it was fun getting to know more and more people. Up came the best ever trip ever, I think a particular couple will certainly agreed with me! Pelepah trip was up next!
It was this trip where I get to know about this crazy kueh called Joyce. I never forget what she first said to me when I called her to inform her I am her group leader.

Joyce: You called my number, if I am not joyce then who am i?
I also get to know Michelle Yang from this trip and that friendship is particularly important to me! And yes, Kelvin Nigan aka Gay boy was first sighted from this trip. That trip is wonderful, I must say, maybe not for one particular person who I shall not named. He experienced some screwed up thing and this came one of the famous line he ever said.At one of the waterfall, when we are enjoying playing with waters and feeling cold, he walked up to us and say " are you all feeling cold?Can you see my area got steam?I am feeling hot!" and with that, he walked away. LOL! After that trip, came the countless number of Alley bar and other outings. We went Alley bar so many times that the waiter know us and our finger food is always much more than other customers.

This was where my 'buffet' theory appeared yah!I think only Yang and JS will understand!LOL. Then came the Jerangkang trip which the famous Amos walk in the canteen come from.
This was my group for the Jerangkang trip!What a fun trip! After that trip, I broke up with Qiuyi and regained the singlehood and joined the group of single people!haha!By this time, alot of scandal are around le,who and who and this and that!That was the tip of the scandal scene!I shall not name any of them for the sake of privacy!haha!But i guess it is a open secret yah! I joined the extreme challenge next and end up as the winner together with Robin, Yang Yang and Rex's friend.
Redang was simply sinful!!We basically eat and sleep and play and eat and sleep and play!!I was at 92.5kg at that time!Oh my god!But it was so fun to be there with this group of people! Before i forget, we were all elected to be the 10th EXCO of SIM ODAC with JS being our boss!I guess one of the reason why we can be successful during our term as EXCO is due to our strong bond and friendship build up during our year 1! I guess Redang trip is a good way to end the year...
